BEFORE & AFTER

Q: What was the customer’s motivation to undertake the project?

A: The customer was seeking to add value to their home and under recommendation from their realtor, they wanted to remodel the countertops and backsplashes in their kitchen, to enhance the quality of their cabinets and lift the space through a lighter texture.
To increase interest in their property and reach a specific price point, the customer wanted a product that was new on the market. For this reason, I proposed the newest design by Cambria: Montaaj. The quartz recommended met both criteria: exclusivity as well as a lighter color and softer design compared to the granite surfaces, they had originally installed.

Q: What were the challenges encountered during the project’s execution?

A: Certainly, the scale of the project, meaning the size of the surface we were asked to cover. Also, we had to carefully remove the light rails positioned underneath the wall cabinets to best support the installation of the backsplashes, and of course reinstall them once the quartz had been put in position.
To bring a project to execution is exciting and complex in most scenarios, to do it in a space that is pristine and needs to be conserved, adds challenges. This is a beautiful home, with an already beautiful kitchen and high value cabinetry, so extra caution had to be made. We padded cabinets and protected floors with special materials.
To all this, I must add the difficulty of seeing the project to fulfillment in the middle of hurricane Milton. Our fabricator’s site was flooded, and electricity was sporadic. This is an important resource when you try to fabricate quartz with a saw and specialty equipment through a delicate process. This caused a delay to the completion of the project.

Q: What would you recommend customers do in a similar remodeling project?

A: It is important customers are aware of all moving parts for the project to succeed. That they understand that challenges can emerge from nowhere, and the quality of the service received measures the character of the company itself. How a project is executed makes the difference in the ultimate outcome, and this is often missed when opting for a more financially advantageous option. Many times, our customers shop around before committing to undertake the project with us, to compare fairly is important.

Q: What were the high points of the project, for you?

A: The customer’s reaction to the countertops and backsplashes being installed. To observe their satisfaction and being pleased with the outcome was priceless. The customers got to see each step of the project, and it was great to witness their excitement upon completion. Cambria quartz is an incredible product, Montaaj is the perfect design for this customer’s space. The product lifted the area and highlighted the cabinetry’s luxury features even more, creating a contrast and at the same time a flow between the floors and the countertops. To accessories the islands we opted for Karran sinks. Truly it created a standard hard to replicate.
