BEFORE & AFTER

Q: What was the customer’s motivation to undertake the project?
A: The customers wanted to update their home. They identified the bathrooms as the priority for their remodeling project, as they thought it needed more work and attention to start with.
Q: What were the challenges encountered during the project’s execution?
A: Assisting the customer by choosing tiles, accessories, countertops and fixtures for 4 bathrooms, so to all be individually designed and styled differently. Each room presented different challenges: the Main Bathroom required a large tub positioned in the middle of the room, to be removed. One of the Guest Bathrooms had a Tuscan styled shower wall to be replaced with shower glass. Also, coordinating installation with an external contractor and ensuring that all crews worked together within project timelines and schedule. It’s a bit like being an orchestra’s Maestro! Atlas Flooring did an amazing job at working with us and responding to our design demands, for shower screens, Schluter, etc.
Q: What would you recommend customers do in a similar remodeling project?
A: If a customer wants to remodel more than one bathroom at one time, it’s important they remember it may be more extensive time wise. Our contractor was terrific at ensuring all crew members were available to solely work on this project. This is not always possible. They should always keep one usable bathroom. Such a scale of work can also be messy, if the contractor is not attentive in terms of dust and debris containment, so customers may wish not to be on site during the remodel. They may wish to seek alternative accommodation or out of town. We schedule projects when customers are not living locally, very often. Also, to have one project manager for this type of work, it’s not always recommendable. As cabinetry designers and installers, we must work with General Contractors to permit licensed plumbing, electrical and tiling work. In such cases, the customer must engage the GC independently to stay within the requirements of the Law. Ambiance Creations believes in providing a white glove, one-stop-service, for this reason I was an active liaison between the contractor and the customer, but ultimately Villa Enterprises had to have a Project Manager for me to work in partnership with.
Q: What were the high points of the project, for you?
A: Getting all design and styling agreed by the customer. Guiding the customer through selecting all tiles, fixtures and colors. Working with Atlas Flooring to add the design element to their beautiful craftmanship. Seeing it all come to life, really! Please scroll below and look at the entire project. Stunning!
